Household goods on the traditional menaje route clear through a customs broker. If you're a Mexican national returning from the U.S., the Nogales consulate's menaje doméstico form states everything must come in a single transport and a single trip — plan the load accordingly. See the menaje de casa guide.

Driving it yourself
U-Haul trucks and trailers can't cross into Mexico, so self-movers use their own vehicle and trailer or hand the load to a carrier at the border. Whatever you load, run it through the calculator first: at a one-day distance, carrying small valuables is nearly free, but big cheap items still eat trailer space.
